The team said the game began as a top-down shooter prototype and shifted toward a slower action horror metroidvania focused on exploration and tension, with enemies prototyped in Unreal before their designs were finalized.

The Witcher 3 Remastered launches on September 29, and CD Projekt has listed the changes it considers most important. Skills are now organized into a skill tree with three ranks each, unlocking new skills requires prerequisite skills, and skill points have been reset. Patch notes show the skill system reworked into a skill tree with three ranks per skill and reset skill points, tweaked non-boss monster behaviour, an expanded Photo Mode with placeable props and a first-person camera, and PC support for Path Tracing, DLSS 4.5, FSR 4 and XeSS 2.0. Switch 2 gains four playstyles and Joy-Con 2 HD Rumble.

God of War Laufey pre-orders open September 29, launches on PS5 February 16, 2027

God of War Laufey will launch on PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027, with pre-orders opening September 29 on PlayStation Store and at participating retailers.
