Strange Scaffold announces Gods With Badges, a narrative tactics game launching on Steam in 2027

Strange Scaffold announced Gods With Badges, a narrative tactics game, during the Triple-I Initiative showcase on 8th October, with a planned 2027 release on Steam for PC. Players take the role of Harrow McClellan, a disgraced police officer patrolling the dystopian city of Scarhelm, where dialogue choices, arrests and uses of force shape her relationships with fellow officers, the public and institutions. Escalations shift the game into isometric turn-based combat, and players can temporarily disable Harrow's body camera to unlock new tactical and dialogue options at the cost of the public record. The project builds on Hard Justice, an unrealised game from strategy studio Artificer, and is part of Strange Scaffold's Project Share initiative.

GTA 6 is due out on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19th November.

Easy Fox's DMV simulator Teach My Little Sister How To Drive uses an AI chatbot as the student sister players instruct to pass her exam. A Steam page update says demo players grew more than twentyfold over the past month, pushing operating costs above $1,000 a day and forcing the team to take out a bank loan, a cost it says will factor into the final price. The four-person team says it hopes to keep the demo running but may close it earlier than expected before release, a decision it has not yet made.

Nivalis Nights Lead Writer: No Combat, But That Doesn't Make It a Cosy Game

Nivalis Nights lead writer Thomas Welsh says the game has no player death, shooting or boss fights, but that doesn't mean it's a cosy game. He says life in its cyberpunk world shouldn't be relaxing at first, and players will have to earn a cosy existence in the city. Welsh also said the dating mechanics are meant to be messy, so players never quite know why a romance didn't work out.

GTA 6 leaker Cyberleek says the full game build drops if its meme coin hits $30 million market cap

GTA 6 leaker account Cyberleek said in an October 10 notice on its website that it will release the full game build, including the complete story mode played to the end, if its meme coin reaches a $30 million market cap. It also demanded that Rockstar put out a disc-based PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version and issue a public apology. The account had posted about 25 minutes of new gameplay footage earlier this week, after going quiet in late August when it appeared to withdraw $250,000 worth of its meme coin. Rockstar and parent company Take-Two subpoenaed Discord and Microsoft in August over the spread of the leaked videos, with no update since.

Skate studio Full Circle responds to ReSkate offline mod: not against creativity, but against bypassing paid cosmetics

Full Circle issued a statement on the ReSkate mod, saying it does not oppose player creativity but draws the line at mods that bypass its systems to unlock paid cosmetics, release gated content, or profit from unauthorized assets. ReSkate drew over 350 thousand downloads in its first week and runs through Steam's Proton emulation, with its most popular feature being the ability to play the free-to-play game offline. Full Circle says it will add official secure access tools for broader community creation, while ReSkate's developers say they did not intend to undercut the studio and would not fight back if EA's legal team came knocking.

WoW: Forever, by casting off modern convenience, has horseshoed back around to being casual friendly again

A PC Gamer MMO column argues that World of Warcraft: Forever, by casting off modern conveniences, has become casual friendly again. The author, who has a 9-5 job and doesn't consider himself a hardcore WoW player, says leveling in Forever is chill, built around 40-minute adventures that don't change if you come back a month later. By contrast, retail's seasonal structure demands intense play and resets much of your progress at season's end, often pushing casual players away.
